Here are my fruits of today's meditation.  I encourage you to share your fruits of the mediation in the comments below.

Like Peter, sometimes I am not prepared to suffer with and for Christ so I continue to pray that I not be put to the "test".

I am planning to call a neighbour who relied on Tim Horton's for his whole social life.

I'm going to try harder to be nicer to my siblings, by making their beds for them while they have breakfast.

Your meditation and reflections, Lamont, reminded me of when I became a caretaker at Marquis Hall (you know the place, where the res students eat their meals and hold weekend dances) at the U of S. All my plans of running my own business or being a sought-after professional had come to naught, and there I was, a part-time janitor, cleaning up every type of mess imaginable, a huge hit to my pride, of which I had way too much (is any too much?). But the "silver lining" was that us part-timers didn’t have to wear the full uniform, only the shirt, so I could still pretend I was a student, working as a janitor part-time. Basically, I found solace in denying my position, an attitude that I came to see permeated many aspects of my being, including my nominal Christianity. Then came the day when I was required to wear the full uniform, and now denial was no longer an option. At some point, however, I realized the job was perfect for me and I spent over a decade there mopping floors and everything else that came along with the job. In short, it was a formative experience for my selfhood and faith. It's a wonderful thing how God’s grace works; often we must be dragged along and bruised for quite a while before we start to follow on our own two feet. Our Lord doesn’t give up on us if he can see even a mustard seed of faith within.
