His delight is to be with you: Let your delight be to be with Him

November

Virtue: PRAYER
Patron: St. Thaddeus, Apostle
Text: We ought always to pray, and not to faint. (Luke 18:1)

EXPLANATION

    He who prays will be saved; he who does not pray will be lost; through the prayer of petition we can obtain all graces; the more and the better one prays, the sooner he will attain sanctity.

RESOLUTIONS

         I will perform all exercises of piety with due attention;

         daily beg for the spirit of prayer, and for the grace to pray in temptation;

         pray especially in interior struggles and difficulties;

         use free time for prayer;

         during the greater part of meditation and spiritual reading make use of the prayer of petition;

         ask for love, pardon, humility, humiliations, and for perseverance;

         pray humbly and with trust as did Abraham: "Seeing I have once begun, I will speak to my Lord, whereas I am dust and ashes." (Gen. 18, 27);

         persevere in prayer in spite of discouragement and dryness.

Daily Prayer

        Good Jesus, who did so often say to Your disciples: "Ask and you shall receive," "We ought always to pray and not to faint," have mercy on me Your poor servant, and for You glory and the salvation of souls, pour into my heart a superabundant grace of devotion and prayer. Give me a love for meditation and fidelity in my excrcises of devotion; inflame me with zeal for divine worship; enrich me with the treasure of Your inestimable love. Grant me, Lord Jesus, the grace to pray at all times, to walk in the path of salvation to the end.

        O Mary, my Mother, grant me an unconquerable spirit of meditation and prayer.

Amen.
